  Come hear about the wild world of fermentation and the issues that affect your food every day. Sandor Katz, author of Wild Fermentation and The Revolution Will No Be Microwaved is coming to Oberlin on March 12th and 13th to discuss underground food movements throughout the United States, the history, health benefits, and preservation abilities of fermentation, and finally a fermentation workshop.

Thurs 3/12 7pm
Reclaiming Food: local food issues and movements that have emerged across the country and why they are important for our food security. From national health care and the connections between the government and agricultural corporations, to veganism, slow and raw foods, cooperatives, and dumpster diving, Sandor will speak about the need to rethink how we approach our food and health systems.

Fri 3/13 1pm
Introduction to Living Food Cultures: the history, cultural background, and benefits of fermented foods throughout the world.

Fri 3/13 4pm
Fermentation Workshop: how to make delicious, healthy, and safe fermented foods! Learn how to make mead, kimchi, kefir, and kombucha.

All events are being held in Hallock Auditorium.
