George Jones Farm and Nature Preserve Discovery Camp 2011
GARDEN DISCOVERY CAMP
|
The George Jones Farm and Science Discovery Camp for children who have completed grades 2, 3, 4 or 5 by June 2011
Tuition: $150 per week, $20 discount each additional sibling.
Who
and what makes a farm work? You do! Come to the George
Jones Farm and explore the question of who and what makes a farm work.
We’ll explore the farm: from the gardens, to the fields and meadows to
the wetlands and the woods. We’ll plant, tend and harvest food for our
daily snacks, play games, learn new songs and complete art activities with
materials from nature. On our final day of camp, we’ll even learn
about and have our own farm market!
Through our investigations, we’ll teach and learn how people, animals and plants all work together to create a farm community.
Our science lessons are aligned with the O.D.E. content standards. The children become part of our farm community and engage in science, art, music, language arts, and games, to develop critical thinking and team building skills.
